Arizona Diamondbacks

Through 48 games last season, the Diamondbacks posted a 28-20 record, although no one predicted Arizona would be in the World Series.

Arizona has gone backward with a 22-26 mark this season, with 17 wins against teams currently at .500 or worse.

The Diamondbacks suffered through one bad inning on Monday night as Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam in a six-run third inning to lead the Dodgers to a 6-4 win.

Arizona fell to 4-13 in the last 17 regular season games at Dodger Stadium since 2022, although the D-backs are 5-3 in their previous eight road games overall.

Brandon Pfaadt takes the mound for Arizona, as the D-backs are 3-6 in his nine starts this season. Pfaadt is coming off his best start of the season as he held the Reds to two hits and one run in seven innings of a 2-1 home victory.

Pfaadt has been up and down in four road outings from a strikeout standpoint. Pfaadt posted an 11-strikeout effort at Seattle and struck out seven at Atlanta but failed to strike out a batter in a 4-2 loss at Baltimore.

In LA's last nine games against right-handed starting pitchers, those hurlers have cashed the over on their strikeout prop eight times, as Pfaadt's number is 5.5 tonight, shaded toward the under.

Last season, Pfaadt faced the Dodgers three times and didn't complete five innings in any of those outings. Pfaadt allowed 10 runs in the first two starts but stepped up in the NLDS by tossing 4 1/3 scoreless innings in a 4-2 victory to eliminate the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers' eight-game lead in the NL West over the Padres heading into Tuesday's action is the largest advantage of any division lead in baseball.

Since suffering a three-game losing streak in mid-April, LA has won 21 of its last 27 games while owning the third-best record in baseball behind the Phillies and Yankees.

The Dodgers are rolling at home during this stretch with a scorching 11-1 mark as the lone loss came to Cincinnati last Thursday night.

Gavin Stone takes the hill for LA tonight as the right-hander is coming off four consecutive starts and is allowing one run each. The Dodgers are 4-0 in this span, as Stone has tossed at least six innings each time.

Stone has never faced Arizona, but the Dodgers have a 4-1 record in his five home starts, and the under is 3-1-1 in those games.

Out of the 12 different opponents the Dodgers have faced this season, designated hitter Shohei Ohtani has homered against 10. One of those two he has not gone deep against is Arizona, as he is just 4-for-12 against the D-backs.

Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers

Betting Pick & Prediction

The Dodgers are amid a 10-1-1 mark in the first five innings in the last 12 home games.

Conversely, Arizona is 3-4-2 in the first five innings in the past nine road contests.

Pfaadt silenced the Dodgers' bats in the playoffs last season but was hammered in the two regular-season matchups.

Look for the Dodgers to jump on Pfaadt and expect Stone to put together another solid outing and lead after five innings.

Pick: Dodgers F5 -0.5 (-110 at FanDuel) – Play to -115
