Red Bull does not seem to be getting a sigh of relief during the ongoing 2024 F1 season. They began the year with allegations against their team principal, Christian Horner. This, in turn, led to motivating design mastermind, Adrian Newey to deliberate on whether to stay with the team. However, Red Bull was shocked and has now given their perspective on the speculation.

Various rumors have been flying around the paddock for the past few months regarding key Red Bull personnel wanting to leave the team. This formed rifts between the leadership group and created an atmosphere of instability. Moreover, when the situation seemed to get under control a few other controversies would spark up, leaving the team and its key figures in a tough position.

This reportedly took a toll on Adrian Newey which led him to inform Red Bull about his intentions of leaving the team. Despite this, the Austrian outfit is confident that the Brit will be with the team for the foreseeable future.

Adrian Newey is under contract at least until the end of 2025 and we are not aware of his arrival in other teams. Red Bull said in an official note

The Austrian giant broke its silence regarding such rumors and revealed that the British designer is contracted with the team until the end of 2025. Moreover, this can mean that Newey would have to negotiate a gardening leave to leave the team, rendering him out of the market for a year and ruling out the possibility of moving to another team anytime soon.

Adrian Newey wants a peaceful environment within Red Bull

The 65-year-old is known for his accolades and designs in the world of F1. However, for him to work properly, a stable environment and leadership are required, which is currently lacking at Red Bull.

Subsequently, Newey explained why he signed a long-term deal with Red Bull in the first place.

I signed a long deal with the team. The only thing I said from the beginning is we want to have a peaceful environment, lately we have been talking about the car. I am happy about that, I am happy with the team and there has never been a reason to leave. Adrian Newey said in a post-race interview at the Chinese GP

The Englishman claimed that he signed a long-term deal because he wanted a peaceful environment at his workplace, which Milton Keynes had provided him with. Moreover, he was happy with the state of the team and affirmed that there was no reason to leave.

However, this soon changed, as he was reported to be unhappy with the power struggle taking place within the Red Bull team. This could ultimately lead him to walk away from the sport or find a new home elsewhere. As things stand, heavyweights like Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Ferrari are all in the running to poach Newey away from Red Bull for tye future years of F1.
