Nico Rosberg claims Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 Ferrari tussle won’t be ‘extremely spicy’

Lewis Hamilton the seven-time world champion, will be seen locking horns with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari next year. The latter has been making his trade with the Italian outfit since 2019 and with Hamilton joining the team, the 2016 F1 world champion, Nico Rosberg has given his verdict on it.

Ahead of the 2025 season, there is a belief in the paddock that Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will be very close to each other in terms of performance. However, despite the hype, Nico Rosberg feels the duo’s tussle won’t be as spicy as everyone is expecting it to be.

Hamilton will join Ferrari next year after spending over a decade with Mercedes.

Charles doesn't seem like someone who goes into conflict too much with his team-mate, so that will make it easier, maybe it won't be too extremely spicy. Nevertheless, Charles is probably the second-best qualifier out there after Max Verstappen, one could possibly say at the moment, so it will be a tough battle for both. Nico Rosberg said in an interview with F1

Rosberg has made it known that Leclerc is not known for being too aggressive with his teammates during on-track tussles. However, the former has also admitted that the Monegasque is probably the second-best one-lap driver after Verstappen and thus, he is really looking forward to his pairing with Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrrai move came as a ‘huge surprise’ to Nico Rosberg

While Rosberg is not expecting too many fireworks during the 2025 tussle between Hamilton and Leclerc, he genuinely wasn’t expecting the former to make the switch. In 2023, the 39-year-old signed a contract extension at Mercedes until the end of next year.

Keeping this in view, Hamilton’s Ferrari move come as a bit of a shock to his former teammate.

Of course it came as a huge surprise; no one expected it, I didn’t expect it either. But if you look at the grand scheme of things, then why not? It’s towards the end of the career… there’s two legendary teams, it’s Mercedes and Ferrari. Nico Rosberg said in the same interview

Lewis Hamilton has so far amassed a record 103 Grand Prix wins, an insane 104 pole positions and as mentioned earlier, seven world championships. He has won everything there is to win in the sport and the only reason why he is joining Ferrari is to win the elusive eighth world title. The Brit feels the Maranello-based outfit is on the up and could provide him with championship worthy machinery in the upcoming years.
